In a recent post, the Benue-born and California-based artist recalled an experience that shaped his determination.

According to Eddy Montana, he once visited some friends who had lodged in a hotel in Lagos to hang out. However, upon arriving, he was told that only three people were allowed to stay in the room.

“I remember back in Lagos when some of my then guys lodge for hotel dey chill. As I reach there they told me that only 3 people can stay in the room. Lol na so I shamelessly comot o 😂 … Na one of the things wey ginger me to hustle hard be that,” he wrote.

Though he laughed about it, the message behind the story was clear — moments of embarrassment or rejection can become powerful motivation. Instead of feeling discouraged, Eddy Montana used that experience as fuel to push himself toward success.

Fast forward to today, Eddy Montana is preparing for one of the biggest events of his career — “Eddy Montana Live in Gboko.” The highly anticipated homecoming concert is set to take place at Gboko Stadium, Gboko, Benue State, Nigeria.

The show is already generating serious buzz, especially as it will feature the energetic street-hop star Portable alongside other notable Nigerian artists. Reports indicate that Eddy Montana is investing millions of naira to ensure the concert is a massive success — from stage production to artist bookings and overall event experience.

This marks a huge milestone for the artist, who is currently based in California but remains deeply connected to his Benue roots.

Living the Dream

Amidst everything, Eddy Montana is now living large — a clear contrast to the Lagos hotel incident he once experienced. His story serves as a reminder that success often comes after uncomfortable moments, and perseverance truly pays off.

From being told there was no space in a hotel room to hosting a stadium concert in his hometown, Eddy Montana’s journey reflects growth, resilience, and determination.

As the countdown to Eddy Montana Live in Gboko continues, fans are eager to witness what promises to be a historic shutdown in Benue State.
